On June 4, Turkmenistan officially launched the 2025 wheat harvest season. Farmers in Ahal, Lebap, and Mary provinces were the first to begin the harvesting campaign. Harvesting in Balkan and Dashoguz provinces is scheduled to start on June 11.

This year, wheat was sown on a total area of 690,000 hectares across the country. The national goal is to harvest 1.4 million tons of wheat: 400,000 tons in Ahal, 345,000 in Mary, 310,000 in Lebap, 265,000 in Dashoguz, and 80,000 in Balkan.

Ceremonies were held in the provinces to mark the beginning of the harvest, and local agricultural workers, machine operators, and officials took part. Production-training meetings focused on ensuring smooth harvesting operations, including technical readiness, fuel supply, and maintenance logistics.

Modern high-performance combines are being used in this year&rsquo;s harvest. Mobile repair and support teams are operating around the clock to service machinery and ensure uninterrupted fieldwork.

During the digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on June 4, Deputy Prime Minister B. Amanov reported on the results of the work done in the supervised sector for January-May 2025. As reported, during the reporting period, the State Concern &quot;T&uuml;rkmennebit&quot; fulfilled the oil production plan at a level of 109 percent.

The oil refining plan was fulfilled by 108 percent, gasoline production - by 102.8 percent, diesel fuel - by 101.2 percent, lubricating oils - by 121.1 percent. The growth rate for liquefied gas production was ensured at a level of 102.2 percent.

Also, the fulfillment of the plan for natural and associated gas production for the period under review amounted to 102.5 percent.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of consistent modernization of production activities, further widespread introduction of modern technologies in order to systematically increase the potential of the oil and gas complex. In this regard, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to monitor the ongoing work to increase oil and natural gas production.

During the first 5 months of this year, the State Concern "Türkmennebit" fulfilled the oil production plan at a level of 109 percent

During the digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on June 4, Deputy Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov presented a report on macroeconomic indicators for January-May of this year.

As reported, the comprehensive steps taken ensured sustainable development of the national economy and an increase in the standard of living of the population. Thus, during the period under review, GDP grew by 6.3 percent, including in industry the growth rate was 0.8 percent, in construction - 4.7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 10.8 percent, in trade - 9.9 percent, in agriculture - 4 percent, in the service sector - 8.6 percent.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the overall volume of manufactured products increased by 9.7 percent, production indicators by industry are positive. Over the first five months of the current year, retail turnover is 12.5 percent higher than the same period last year, and foreign trade turnover is 5.4 percent higher.

During the specified period, the revenue part of the State Budget was executed at the level of 101.2 percent, and the expenditure part - 97.6 percent.

The amount of wages in large and medium-sized enterprises of the country increased by 11.4 percent compared to the same period of 2024. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were financed on time.

Compared to the same period last year, the volume of capital investments mastered from all sources of financing increased by 16.3 percent.

The progress of the National Rural Program was also reported. 
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of taking appropriate measures to ensure sustainable economic development and maintaining GDP growth rates within the established limits until the end of the year. Turkmenistan's GDP grew by 6.3 percent in January-May

On June 4, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the results of the work carried out in the country over the five months of this year were summed up.

The first to speak was the Chairman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova , who informed about the activities being carried out to bring national legislation into line with the realities of the times.

As reported, in order to strengthen the legal foundations of the socio-economic reforms being implemented, 8 Laws of Turkmenistan were adopted in January-May of this year, including new legislative acts on improving the activities of judicial bodies and on accession to the relevant Protocol to the International Convention on Load Lines. Along with this, amendments and additions were made to the current codes regulating criminal, arbitration , civil and criminal procedure, family and labor relations, as well as to legislation related to taxes, jubilee medals, administrative proceedings, motor transport and migration. Along with this, deputies and specialists of the Mejlis took part in 48 seminars on the modernization of legislative activity, organized by the relevant ministries and departments of the country together with authoritative structures. On June 3, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Hu Heping.

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov leads mass bike ride in Ashgabat

The Esteemed President of Turkmenistan pays close attention to the prioritized development of the country&rsquo;s oil and gas sector and makes key decisions in this area. His tireless efforts enable large-scale progress in the exploration and increase of hydrocarbon reserves across the country.

Inspired by this national mission, the dedicated and cohesive team of the &ldquo;Lebapnebitgazgozleg&rdquo; expedition under the State Corporation &ldquo;Turkmengeologia&rdquo; actively contributes to this vital work. Their determined efforts are bearing fruit.

Recently, the explorers brought joyful news to the people: a research well drilled at the Northern Gazlydepe field by a team led by Aganyyaz Akyyev produced a strong flow of natural gas. Experts report the well&#39;s production rate reaches 420,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 5 tons of gas condensate per day.

&ldquo;This field has been producing gas for many years, so existing wells are considered low-pressure. However, specialists believe that the field is still rich in resources. Our work is based on that assumption. In our research well, we uncovered large gas reserves between depths of 3,085&ndash;3,089 and 3,108&ndash;3,123 meters. This confidently confirms the significant future of this field,&rdquo; says expedition chief geologist Syunnet Khatamov.

Indeed, the hard work of Lebap region geologists has brought well-deserved results. They attribute their success to the favorable conditions and comprehensive support provided by the Esteemed President for high labor productivity. The drilling team leader proudly highlights that each member of the crew has contributed to this achievement. In particular, the contributions of geologist Shohrat Ishangulyyev and drillers Durdy Ilmyradov and Serdar Gulnazarov deserve special recognition. With their high professional skill and competence, they serve as role models and motivate colleagues to work with dedication.

It is also worth noting that large-scale geological exploration is being carried out in the resource-rich Unyuzangyr region of the Karakum steppe. These efforts are part of a 2024&ndash;2026 plan developed and approved jointly by the State Concern &ldquo;Turkmengaz&rdquo; and the State Corporation &ldquo;Turkmengeologia.&rdquo; The program includes drilling of exploration, evaluation, and development wells at sulfur-free gas fields. Last year, industrial gas flows were obtained from wells drilled at the Chartak and Tachmyradov sites. This year, high performance continues &mdash; in addition to the Northern Gazlydepe well, a productive flow was obtained from a well at the Hazarli site. Currently, new drilling is progressing rapidly at the Tebigy and Northern K&ouml;seşor fields.

The main buyers of Turkmen goods were business representatives from the UAE, Afghanistan, and Turkey. Liquefied gas produced by the &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a&rdquo; State Concern was purchased by buyers from the UAE and Afghanistan, while Turkish companies acquired refined cotton waste.

The domestic market also showed high activity. Turkmen entrepreneurs purchased road bitumen, polypropylene, and base oil produced by the &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmennebit&rdquo; State Concern, along with Portland cement, cotton yarn and fabric, and textile waste. The total value of domestic transactions exceeded 88 million 437 thousand manats.

Turkmen Commodity Exchange Records Over $1.3M in Exports, Strong Domestic Sales

On June 1, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for a state visit to Mongolia. At the International Airport of the capital, the President of Turkmenistan was seen off by government officials.

After the flight to Ulaanbaatar, the presidential airliner landed at Buyant-Ukhaa International Airport, where the National Flags of both countries were raised on flagpoles and an Honor Guard was lined up. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan was welcomed there by Mongolian officials.

As part of a well-established tradition of hospitality, the distinguished guest was presented with guriltai shul, a national Mongolian dish, and flowers.

From the airport, the President of Turkmenistan proceeded to the residence designated for the duration of the visit.
